“I was supposed to record in the night so I was taking a nap in the studio, I saw the fire early and managed to get out. But then, the fire has just started, so I called the Ghana National Fire Service, however, they were adamant about coming. They delayed,” he told Ohemaa Acheampomaa on Onua TV’s Anigye Kaseɛ.

He further explained that the fire department was reluctant because they thought it was a prank call. He also noted that the fire incident caused the breakup between himself and his label, however, he got his breakthrough after that.

“When I called, they thought it was a prank call. They didn’t believe me, they thought I was joking, I called them around 11 p.m. but they got there at 4 o’clock thereabout. When they got there, the fire had already destroyed everything.

“After the fire, my label boss accused me of causing the fire, and we separated thereafter. God being so good, I got my breakthrough that same year,” he concluded.

Lyrical Joe is out with a new album dubbed “Photo Album”.
