Ave Maria School Launches 40th Anniversary Celebrations

The Ave Maria School has launched its 40th-anniversary celebration by urging school leaders to provide better opportunities and platforms for interaction with students in order to guide them in their education.

In her address, the Keynote Speaker, Mrs. Audrey Dekalu, National Treasurer of the Ghana Journalists Association, charged the school’s administration with motivating its teachers to provide the best education possible to their students.

“A motivated and well-paid teacher is an asset to every school. I would employ the management of this school to motivate and retain their teachers so they are able to give their best to the school.”

She also urged parents to support their children at home rather than leaving their academic concerns to the school and teachers. She urged the students to take their studies seriously in order to be better future leaders.

“To the students, I advise you to make good use of the knowledge you are acquiring from Ave Maria School in a way that will make you grow to become responsible adults. As children, you should make use of every opportunity that comes your way no matter how much it cost,” she added.

In his remarks as a guest of honor, Dr. Kwaku Mensa-Bonsu, founder of the National Science and Maths Quiz, emphasized the importance of quality education and advised students to stay safe on the internet.

The anniversary celebration, themed “40 years of academic and talent excellence,” will include activities planned from October to January 2023.

Ms. Christabel Antwi, the Administrator of Ave Maria School, spoke to the media on the sidelines of the anniversary launch about the school’s history and the importance of commemorating this significant milestone.

The event, hosted by TV3’s broadcast journalist, Judith Awortwi-Tabdoh, an Old Student of Ave Maria School Class of 2013, featured performances by students from the cultural club and a 30-man cadet contingent.
